Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service that sets up telephone calls over the Internet that are often billed at a flat rate and leverage subscribers existing broadband Internet connection. This saves money in that only one connection is needed for both voice (phone) and data (Internet) service.

VoIP can provide big company telephone features on a small company budget. You are not merely trading one system for another: VoIP represents the next generation of telephony and messaging: Control calls anytime from anywhere, view incoming calls, view missed calls, view calls you have placed, view your voice messages like emails (find the voice message you want to listen to first – listen to it through your phone, remotely, or on any sound-enabled computer, forward it to another user or an email box), click to call people in your contact directory, enjoy four-digit dialing to all of your locations, etc.

ADT Monitored Home Security Systems:

MPLS:
Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) is a data network protocol that uses Class of Service (CoS) to prioritize different types of data packets across a shared network to facilitate the convergence of voice, video and data applications.

As business networks face increasing numbers of applications with low latency and high bandwidth demands, MPLS allows network administrators to specify which applications should be prioritizes above others so that data flows across the network is an organized fashion that reflects the relative business importance of various type of data.

MPLS network is particularly important to businesses running applications that require latency such as VoIP, ERP, SAP, etc.

Ethernet Internet:
Ethernet is the most widely-used data network protocol today. Standardized as IEEE 802.3, the Ethernet protocol is used for local area networks (LANs) at the Layer 1 (Physical Layer) and Layer 2 (Data Link Layer) of the OSI networking model. Ethernet can be used to connect twisted copper pair networks and to connect fiber optic cable networks. It also provides a great local access medum to connect LANs to the Internet. Ethernet access to the Internet is quickly becoming the access method of choice were it is available.

POTS local loop speed is increased by up to 50 times when a DSL modem is attached at the customer premise and a Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer (DSLAM) is connected to the local access loop at the local telephone company central office (CO).

DSL service is delverd as Asymmetric DSL (ADSL) which is the most common application for Internet access, where fast downstream is required, but slow upstream is acceptable, and as Symmetric DSL (SDSL) which supports high speed access across the local access loop in both directions.

Wireless Internet Service:
Satellite Wireless Internet is a new way to access the Internet at high speeds from anywhere in the United States. Satellite Wireless Internet is delivered via satellites that orbit the Earth while transmitting and receiving high frequency radio internet data to a small dish located at the customer premise. This two-way satellite radio system is reliable, easy to set up and is mobile. You can move the subscriber satellite dish and re-connect with ease.

How does MSN stack up against the other DSL providers in my area?

Written by: Patrick Oborn - Dec 4, 2008

How does the largest software giant in the word increase revenue? That is the billion-dollar question facing planners at Microsoft. As the market leader in operating system software with a market share of 95%, it becomes difficult to generate revenue while almost every PC on this planet is already running some version of Windows. The answer? High-speed internet access (MSN DSL) and video games (XBOX).

Wether by luck or by plan, Microsoft was able to hold off on their plans to become and ISP until -after- the dot-com crash, allowing Microsoft to purchase network capacity for pennies on the dollar. Coupled with Mircosoft's unequalled ability to repeat sell to their customers, MSN DSL was quick to pick up it's first batch of customers.

Since the initial launch in 2002, MSN DSL has built out it's portal to rival that of AOL, complete with it's own version of Instant Messanger, Spam-Filetered Email, and Parental Controls. Leave it to Microsoft to dominate any computer-related field it sets in its sights.
